Should I add this popular girl on facebook?

I'm moving to a new school and I dont really know anyone there, and when I went there for a day to see if I liked the school, I saw this girl that I know of because we have mutual friends. She's really popular at that school. Should I add her on facebook as a friendly gesture since we both saw each other before? We didn't talk to each other though. Or will she think I'm weird for adding her?
