Is an abscess on a cat that has undergone operation supposed to be an open wound with pus still draining?

There is no tube for the drainage, and the vet gave me no pain meds or antibiotics. I thought after cutting away dead skin they were supposed to close the wound back up. What worries me most is the sight of the wound, it stretches from right under the chin to the top of the throat. The circumference of the wound has to be at least 3 or 4 inches. Everything inside of me is telling me that this is way past the threshold of normality, granted the wound was quite a bit more massive than that before it got operated on. The abscess itself formed within the space of 2 days, and somehow had burst into her mouth, which is extremely distressing and troubling. I didn't take her to her normal vet, and I'm hoping someone with veterinary knowledge can tell me if this sounds like SOP for an abscess. It seems to me that they took away entirely too much skin, I highly doubt that much of it was necrotic. The procedure was more expensive than I have the money for, but I love this creature more than any damn amount of recycled green fibers. The only advice I was really given was to take a warm compress to the affected site twice a day for 10 - 20 minutes. They say she has a low red blood cell count and possible kidney disease. Could this be a reason for not prescribing antibiotics? They had given her an antibiotic injection, but the lack of a prescription has me worried. Now, I'm a pretty paranoid individual, but nothing about this situation feels right to me. Can anyone offer some guidance?

Why doesnt my PS3 work after being on an HDTV using an HDMI cable?

My ps3 used to work on a normal non-HDTV... I then switched it to an HDTV using an HDMI Cable (instead of the 3 colored - Red, Yellow, and White plugs). Now that I'm using a non-HDTV again, the ps3 is not working with the colored plugs. when i first used the HDMI Cable, the ps3 asked, "Would you like to format this system to be in HD" (or something along those lines...) and of course i said "Yes!"... is there any way to convert back into non-HD format sop that i can continue to play the PS3!!?!??!?!?!

So I met this really cute guy at a bar on Friday and he asked for my number.We texted throughout saturday, and he asked me questions about myself- if I was close to my family, do I smoke, etc. To me this sounds like questions you ask a potential girlfriend. That night he hinted I could text him tomorrow (Sunday), so I did. We continued talking for the majority of Sunday and he asked to add me on facebook so I said sure. We talked a bit after that but not as much. I hadn't heard from him on Monday, so that night I just sent a friendly text and mentioned me and my friends were going out on Thursday and did he want to come (he had told me he would tell me next time he was going out so I thought it would be appropriate to do the same). He said he'd like to go but he had to get up early the next morning. So I asked him if he was trying to tell me he didn't want to see me again, and it was ok if he was. He responded with no he did, he just couldn't go, but he will be there again. I found that a bit off putting, so I asked what that meant, like in a year (as a joke). And he said no in a couple weeks, which I didn't respond to. Was I too forward? I haven't heard from him again and it's wednesday. The SOP is WAY out of date and you are being told this and that by different people, and procedure seems to change every day, but the SOP stays the same. Absolutely no formal training has been offered to any of the sailors responsible for this system. Out of 20 people, more than half are E3's while the rest are E4's. All of the sudden, when the **** hits the fan, everything falls back on the junior sailors and they are being written up left and right (and now threatened with drb/mast) for doing something wrong they didn't even realize they were doing wrong and are crying out for someone to give them an up to date SOP and offer them training so ONE way of doing things can be set in place and will be department-wide knowledge, instead of word of mouth instruction being passed down like "oh this changed, we do that now. Oh you can't do that anymore, we have to do this now." (when they remember to pass it down). My main question here is can these sailors be held this responsible even though they haven't received any training whatsoever? This is millions of dollars we're talking about here and I'm a firm believer that nothing can be done properly without adequate training. Can you give me the instruction number where this type of situation would be listed? I've searched, but only found info about NJP, not counselings and the counseling matrix. Any help appreciated, I've been wracking my brain with this thought.

Manager showing favoritism, should I stay out of it?

In another department the manager has hired his friend as a temp. This temp does nothing all day but hide in the restroom and sit in the manager's office acting like he's reading SOPs. Now the manager has given this temp passwords to access information that only permanent employees should know. (he bragged about it to me). The other permanent employees are complaining to me. This could be a couple things. First, does your toilet flush properly? If there is no clog and the toilet flushes properly, then you need to replace your flush valve in the toilet tank. The flush valve turns the water off when the tank is filled. Those will go bad after a while and let the water keep coming. Normally that water will go down the overflow tube and into the bowl, though. Also, check the connection of the supply line. The supply line connects the valve at the wall to the toilet. If the supply line is cut or has a bad connection, water would accumulate quickly. To have that much water, one of those must be your problem. Both are quick easy fixes. Just go to your local hardware store for those parts.

I just got the new Nancy Drew game, The Captive Curse, but (Murphy's Law) it doesn't work on my system, which is a Windows XP Professional. In the manual it says that it IS compatibler with just regular old Windows XP. Are XP and XP Pro really that different? Does it make that much of a difference. Or is there something wrong with my DVD drive?

Recently, every time I try to enter a car to drive anywhere, the game will exit out. It won't freeze or anything, so I never have to restart the computer, but the game will be gone. And this only started happening recently, and by that, I mean today. No changes that I can think have been made to my computer, except I installed a new computer game (American McGee's Alice if that helps). My game used to occasionally minimize but rarely exit competely, and when it did it'd never do it at the same part. I plenty of memory on computer and this is the first time it's happened. Industrial piercing problems?

i got my industrial pierced about a week or two ago and i was told to buy a certain soap to clean it. the piercer said to buy the said and put a very thin layer in the bottom of a soap dispenser and to fill the rest with water so it would be diluted. The sop stuff is called "dr. bronner's magic soaps. 18-in-1 hemp tea tree pure castile soap made with organic oils". it is anti-microbial and i believe it is also anti-bacterial. I have been washing the piercing with this soap and water mixture twice a day as i have been told. it has been drying out my entire ear very much, making the skin on and around flake and peel off. it is quite painful and i don't know how to fix it. i have tried washing it with plain cold water after using teh soap and using a face moisturizer called cetaphil on it. It is still flaky and painful and i can't seem to fix it. please help!

I was reaLly really scared when I played ghost dogs of moon lake but there is only one scary scene in that one and it happens close to the beginning. Why is my dog suddenly aggressive towards select people?

My 5yr old neutered basset hound is the sweetest and friendliest dog. There have been incidents where he has growled at select people, some which have returned, some were strangers and he would tuck his tail, lower his head and slowly walk away. How to I get an extension on a Restraining Order After Hearing to Stop Harassment?

I have a Restraining Order After Hearing to Sop Harassment that is going to expire next Friday. The Order has been violated twice, once 30 days after it was issued and again last week. Both violations were validated with police reports. The first violation was forwarded to the DA but nothing became of it. When the order was placed a year ago, the judge told me to contact the court if the order was violated and it would be extended. I can't seem to locate a form/document to extend the order. When I went to the court house this week, I was told my only option was to reapply for a new order. Does this sound correct? Thank you for your help.

I'm extremely temperamental and I have consistent suicidal thoughts, and violent thoughts. I get anxious around too many people, and I start tearing up and getting scared. I'm extremely pessimistic and I have the absolute WORST self esteem. One minute, I can be perfectly fine, and the next I'm balling my eyes out because I feel like I don't belong and I feel worthless and uninteresting. I was so hard on myself when I went to my college orientation because everyone there was super shy and getting to know each other, and I literally felt like I didn't deserve to talk to anybody because everyone was 10x more attractive than me, and 10x more interesting. And when I did have conversations with people, I stopped talking after a minute or two because I felt like nothing I could say would be interesting. I can't look in mirrors because I start crying. I feel like everyone's making fun of me all the time. I come off as super nice but extremely soft-spoken to people, and I feel like everyone thinks I'm weird and nobody likes me. I'm an art student/major, and I have zero inspiration to do anything because I'm so scattered and unorganized and I'm repetitive. I'm scared to go to school because I feel like I won't make any friends, even when I try to be friendly. And I'm scared I won't do well in my art classes because I can't stop repeating myself. I have panic attacks almost every single day, and I cry myself to sleep. I have a younger brother, and I used to shrug it off when he was mean to me, but as I started to get older I couldn't handle it anymore. And he makes me want to kill myself. And I try to be happy and I try to find things to do that take my mind off of unpleasant thoughts but it doesn't seem to last very long at all, and I feel like there's nothing I can do about it.

How do I deal with my friends death?

I found out a few days ago that one of my friends was skateboarding, got hit by a car, and died instantly. I didn't find out right away because I moved last summer. I can't grasp that he's gone I feel like it's just a living nightmare. The lady that hit him wasn't even charged. He was 14!!!!! I talked to my dad and some of my friends. But they didn't know him, and they helped but not that much. I want to go to the funeral, but I live sop far away and I'm not even going near my old town for 1 year. Planned ceserean section... what to expect?

i had a planned c-section due to placenta previa with my second daughter i stayed awake during the operation and it was a strange feeling like some1 washing up in your tummy i was put on a morphine drip afterwards so pain was minimal it did hurt when i coughed though picking baby up should be fine i had no problems doing so just try to take it a lil easy with the housework the pain went away for me about 2 weeks after the op good luck and dont worry

Would it bother you if a friend only talked to you if you contacted them first, and never initiated? Half the time they don't even reply to your emails, and that's pretty much the only way you've kept in touch. When they do reply they are friendly, but they only answer your questions regarding what's new with them, but they don't ask any questions about you in return? They don't acknowledge your birthday even though theirs was a short time before and you wished them a happy birthday.

Do dogs really defend their master, and do you think mine will?

Hey guys, okay, so lately i've had this weird paranoid feeling of going out anywhere alone. Don't get me wrong, i can be in places by myself, but with people around me if that makes sense, but i'm talking about, say, going for a nice walk to the park or some place where there is no witnesses to hear my screams if somebody were to attack me. I guess all those stories you hear about women being attacked, raped and/or murdered have made feel like its going to happen to me. My mom told me that whenever i want to go for a walk, and she can't cos shes too busy, to take my dog. That he'll know what to do if anything were to happen. Hes a 2 year old, male bordercollie, and hes my best friend. He knows me as his master, nobody else in my family. He'll be sleeping, and before i hear a noise or somebody talking, hes already heard it and is alert. Sometimes he does this little 'buff' sound (sooo cute). He won't let ANYBODY trespass on our property, he will go mad. When somebody goes past our house, he'll yip a couple times, and that's it. When a visitor comes to the door, and i tell him its alright, he'll settle completely down, but only if its a woman. If its a man, he will just bark himself out, whimper, and keep smelling them (mainly near their crotch, soooo embarrasing), while i have him by the collar and pull him back. Sometimes he shows his teeth. Only with men. In the past i've taken him for walks, and he'll be all friendly to people, as they past us, but then another person who looks like an ordinary person like the others that met my dogs approval walks by minding his own business, and he'll get so upset and look at me, and whimper, and then keep looking back as we walk on. Hes the only dog i've had so i have no idea why he behaves like this or whether its normal. But the fact of the matter is he has never bitten somebody, and so in the back of my mind, i think he'll never actually do it, if it ever comes time for him to protect me. Its like i'll feel more at ease, if he accidently did bite somebody to protect me, there would be that re-assurance, but of course by him biting somebody, it would mean he would be taken from me.

So, I was just taking a nap and I had a dream about my boyfriend that I've been going out with for two weeks and a few days now, cheating on me. Well, I have absoulutley no clue as to what the black stuff could possibly be, but the reason your earings won't go in is because for the first 3 months you are supposed to have your earings in at all times. That is what my person said. I forgot one day and the same happened to me. The black stuff may be from dirt in your ear or possibly just dirt that ran into it during your showers. I have taken the GRE and got a score of 1340. I have booked for a TOEFL date on Mar 29 and I am currently preparing for it. There are lot of activities I need to yet complete for the applications. Activities like writing SOP, getting Recommendation letters from university, getting bank statement and finally applying for universities. I am very nervous about the schedule I have to follow to be ready for the Fall 2012 as I dont have enough time to do anything on weekdays as I have a full time job to do. Please suggest me a schedule or time by which I should be ready with my applications for Fall 2012 term of US Universities. I know that the dates for each univ differ. Why does this girl hate me so much?

maybe your guinea pig doesnt like the type of pellets your feeding her...mine refused to eat this one brand, so now i only feed him kaytee brand...also feed it grass and timothy hay they like that...they will eat almost any fruits and vegetables just not iceberg lettuce cause they cannot digest that.
